London: A British Sikh Army Reserve was on Monday named as the winner of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Points of Light Award for his exceptional service commemorating Sikh contributions to the country's armed forces. Jay Singh Sohal, who is the Conservative Party candidate for West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, was recognised for leading a campaign to create the UK’s only memorial to the more than 1,20,000 Sikh soldiers who fought during the World War-I. Andhra Dy CM turns actor for film on farming
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM P Pushpa Srivani turned actor for a Telugu movie being made to highlight the importance of natural farming. Srivani, who also hold the portfolio of tribal welfare, is playing the role of a teacher in the movie titled ‘Amrutha Bhoomi’. She along with Vizianagaram district collector M Harijawaharlal participated in the shooting at Gorada village in Vizianagaram district. Srinavi said the aim of the movie is to create awareness among people about the natural farming. IANS
