At an event in Mumbai on Monday, filmmaker Tushar Hiranandani unveiled the trailer of his much-awaited film Saand Ki Aankh that stars Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. The film is based on the inspirational journey of India’s oldest sharp-shooters, Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar. “We really had big boots to fill. Primarily, it started with the fact that I wanted to do two films where two actresses would work together with equal roles. They are big heroes for the entire nation to look up to. For me a very emotional reason to do this film was that I just couldn’t stop thinking about my mother when I heard the story,” shared Taapsee.
Added Bhumi Pednekar, “There are some films which are very special and this is one of them. This film is an ode to my grandparents, my parents, and an ode to my mom. Just what our mothers did for us, we don’t even get a chance to thank them. This is our way of thanking them.”
