What prompted you to take up this show?
I think there was no reason that I could say no to the show. There were so many reasons that prompted me to join the show; it is such a big production house, the show will be coming on a big channel plus an ensemble cast.
What is so special about your character, Kunal?
The special thing about my character, Kunal, is that he is very layered as a person; everything he does has a particular reason for it. It’s not like typical chocolate boy thing, who is just there at home and has no story.
How much do you relate to the character?
I relate to it in a sense that he is very caring about his family; whatever happens, he just wants that the family doesn’t break up. Also, we both like to dress in formals.
Your youthful chocolate boy looks are your USP; how do you feel?
This is the image I have been trying to break and will break in this show. The looks are good and nice, I have been blessed with them; to break the image is very challenging for me, but it’s fun to do.
What do you think about the title of the show?
The title answers the question that we asked the audience 10 years ago! I think if there is no love in any kind of relation then it feels really empty, so I think the title is very apt; it fits perfectly in the story.
Have you watched Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai before?
Yes; my family has been watching it since the beginning.
How well do you bond with Shaheer Sheikh?
Shaheer bhai is great; we bonded really well now.
