The BJP today expelled senior leader IP Singh from the party for six years for “anti-party activities”. Singh had described the top leadership as “Gujarati thugs” and wondered if the nation had chosen a “Pradhan Mantri” or “Prachar Mantri”. On Twitter, he said: “…Does it look good that the PM is selling T-shirts and tea from his official twitter handle? BJP was a party that won the hearts of people by its ideas. It is impossible to win over workers by missed calls and wearing T-shirts.”

He said: “I belong to a principled ‘kshatriya’ family. Two Gujarati thugs have been befooling Hindi-speaking people from the Hindi heartland for the past five years after capturing the country. And we are silent. Our UP is six times bigger than Gujarat with an economy of Rs 5 lakh crore against Gujarat’s Rs 1.15 lakh crore,” said Singh, adding that in such a situation what would they eat and what development would they bring in.

He also exposed the BJP’s best secret in UP by describing BJP organising secretary Sunil Bansal as “super CM” and wondering how CM Yogi Adityanath was surviving.

He also regretted that the party now did not need workers who had given three decades of their lives to the party but required managers like Bansal. “Forgive me Narendra Modi ji I cannot blindfold myself and become a chowkidar for you,” he said.

Hails Akhilesh

IP Singh, meanwhile, hailed Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav contesting from Azamgarh, saying that the announcement had sent a wave of happiness across Purvanchal. “It has enthused the youth who are now looking forward to development and an end to politics of religion and caste,” he said.
