From foot-tapping music to thumkas or even rap, Bollywood movies boast of innumerable sequences that have made the world dance to its tunes, literally. On International Dance Day, we take a quick recap of recent movies that have given us some unforgettable hook dance steps.

Young & fresh

The newly released song Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani from Student Of The Year 2 has main leads — Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria, Ananya Pandey and Aditya Seal —dance to the remix version of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The song looks fresh and a lot of people are already hooked onto it. It seems to be catching up fast!

A classic call

Ghar More Pardesiya from Kalank hit the Internet with many people posting their videos dancing to this traditional number, originally done by Alia Bhatt. We can’t forget the expressions by the legendary actress Madhuri Dixit and fans across danced to this classical song and shared it on social media.

A first amongst the firsts

Trust Varun Dhawan to engage his fans and followers with his work in the best possible way. The actor’s hook step of song First Class was widely picked up by everyone and from award shows to house parties, this song has been raging.

In the times to remember

Some foot-thumping music, Apna Time Aayega of Ranveer Singh from Gully Boy is an instant hit and every person, dancer and non-dancer has once in their life grooved to it. This song is a rage and we are sure, the song will be fondly remembered in years to come.

In a wink

Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s Aankh Marey from Simmba picked up instantly and the hook step is literally danced at every sangeet function today. We loved the remix version of the old song and it is definitely a party number of the year!

Much-loved is this one

Nora Fatehi’s Dilbar Dilbar has been in the music charts ever since its release. From belly dancing moves to the music, people from across the world have danced to this number and the vibe has been crazy.

Bolly Mania

“Bollywood dancing is what always works in whichever part of the world one is,” says choreographer Jas K Shan. Though the term is very generic, a combination of numerous dance forms, anyone can claim to know it even if all one knows is just one dance, and that’s the beauty of it. “Whether I am in Budapest or Moscow, as beats go on, the crowd is always moving.” High recall value, being aspirational and fun at the same time, Bolly dancing is one packed class at her Dance Dacha. “Bollywood numbers are high on the go-to list, whether it’s a fitness class or a family function!”
