Yogi: Cong infected with Muslim League virus

Lucknow, April 5

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today described the Muslim League as a “virus” that had infected the Congress, clearly referring to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) flags during Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s road show in Kerala yesterday.

Yogi tweeted: “Aaj phir wahi khatra mandra raha. Harey jhandey phir se lahra rahe” (Today, we are faced with the same danger. Once again, green flags are fluttering). Mentioning the 1857 freedom struggle when the entire country fought the British rallying behind Mangal Pandey, he wrote: “Phir yeh Muslim League ka virus aaya and aisa faila keh pura desh ka hi batwara  ho gay”. (And then the Muslim League virus came and spread in such a manner that the country was divided).

Known for his controversial views, the CM was served a notice by the Election Commission for describing the armed forces as “Modiji ki sena” at an election meeting. — TNS
