New Delhi, May 3
The Navy will add “more eyes in the sky” as it will get 10 more Kamov-31 helicopters, which have air-borne early warning capability.
The Defence Acquisition Council approved the direct purchase of these copters from Russia. It will cost Rs 3,600 crore approximately.
The Navy already operates the Kamov-31, which are launched from ship decks and can provide real-time battle picture at the sea — like warning about drones, warships and jets and keeping an eye on the area. — TNS
