Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a swipe at the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (Grand Alliance) saying those who are not even in a position to give the Leader of Opposition in Parliament are getting clothes stitched for becoming the prime minister.
Addressing a rally in Muzaffarpur, Modi said: “Most of these parties are not contesting enough seats which could help their representative become even the Leader of the Opposition, which would require a tally equivalent to at least 1/10th of Parliaments total strength. Still, their leaders are nursing prime ministerial ambitions”.
“The next three phases of Lok Sabha elections will decide the magnitude of defeat of the ‘Mahamilawati’ (Mahagathbandhan) and the scale of victory for the NDA, even if they have already got defeated in the first four phases of elections. If the Opposition regains their diminished strength, it would only trigger the era of loot, kidnapping in Bihar as it is not in position to form the government at the Centre”.
The Prime Minister also claimed that he nullified the VIP culture of red beacons and bathed villages of the country with LED bulbs. He promised ‘pucca’ home to all by 2022, asserting that the Modi government distributed free LPG gas connection, and made an arrangement of toilets for the poor too.
In a veiled attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who is serving a jail term in Ranchi in connection with multi-crore fodder scam, Modi said: “Those who are making rounds of the court to secure bails have been dreaming to form the government at the Centre. The mahamilawatis (Mahagathbandhan) are trembling in fear and cannot tolerate a strong government in New Delhi for a second.”
He claimed that no one was safe if terrorism gout flourishing. The country needed such a strong government that could root would the terror activities as it had become the daily routine.
