Donuts & love

Sheetal

Shweta Mahant, an assistant professor and Rajat Chaudhary, a businessman, tied the knot in spite of the societal barriers of caste and region thrown their way.

Story begins
Shweta We were studying in the same coaching institute in the final year of schooling. And our paths crossed again after five years when we recognised each other in an IAS coaching academy.

Rajat When I met her again after five years, I thought it was fate. I jumped at the first chance I got by adding her on Facebook and asking her for coffee. We went to Dunkin’ Donuts and we were so engrossed that time just flew.

Getting hitched
Shweta It happened in March 2017 after a lot of efforts. We faced caste and regional divides and that really tested our love for each other.

Rajat It never crossed our minds to give up our love for a single moment, which is why we are together today. We put in every effort to reason it out with our parents and finally got married with their blessings.

Living together
Shweta The feeling of staying together was eternal and cannot be defined in one sentence. It was like all my life, I have been waiting for this moment.

Rajat I love the thought of her waiting for me at home every evening. I love going grocery shopping and doing other household chores with her. We love to go out and try different cuisines.

Changes here and there
Shweta  Those who say it was a piece of cake will surely be lying. Leaving home and adjusting in the new one takes time but it was an experience for a lifetime. We became more responsible and mature after marriage. But life is exciting.

Rajat I was optimistic the whole time and enjoyed every bit from settling in a new place with a new person beside me to building a new home from the scratch.

Loving each day
Shweta  I cherish each and every moment I get to live with him. Happiness is all that matters, no money or lavish style can top that.

Rajat Seeing the person you love around you is a delight for the eyes. I cannot bear the thought of leaving her side for a single day.

If I could change
Shweta He never remembers the instruction I give him before leaving the house and also he never brings back the groceries I want.

Rajat I would not change a single thing about her.

Annoying yet loving habit
Shweta He is an extrovert who loves to dance the moment he finds the floor and forces me to join him. Though I feel awkward at those public events but I also like that he wants me beside him at all times.

Rajat On the contrary, I annoy her and enjoy it. Maybe she gets annoyed easily is what I love about her.

Wow factor
Shweta His smile, which  is filled with innocence. I would do anything to watch that grinning face of his.

Rajat For me, it will always be her dressing sense and the way she carries herself. She is perfect.

Couple goals
Shweta To have that emotional connect with Rajat that makes us inseparable, where one is incomplete without another.

Rajat Stand by each other in every situation and be each other’s strength.
