After Fanney Khan, there have been speculations about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s next project. Now, the latest buzz suggests that Aishwarya has given her nod to play a negative character in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming period drama set in the 10th century.
Says a source, “The story takes place in the 10th century before Raja Chola became a king. Aishwarya will be seen as Nandini, the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, who served as the chancellor and treasurer of the Chola kingdom. Her character is written as a mysterious, power-hungry woman who manipulates her husband to plan the downfall of the Chola empire because she has been wronged by them.”
Interestingly, Aishwarya has previously portrayed grey characters in films like Khakee and Dhoom 2. The actress also shares a strong bond with Mani Ratnam. She had, in fact, made her debut with Mani’s Iruvar in 1997.
