With Bollywood stars such as Sunny Deol and Urmila Matondkar as well as TV actress Shilpa Shinde joining political parties, small screen stars share their views on how important a celebrity face is during voting.
Big responsibility

Being a fan is different and voting for the best party is a big responsibility, which should be done taking a lot of points into consideration. Whoever thinks that they can fool their fans by getting their votes in elections are wrong in my view.
Fan base

I have no interest in joining politics at all, but yes, some people like it, so they do join. And as we actors are public figures; so we do have people who know us and like us, so, yes because of that fans follow their favourite stars and sometimes they might even vote for them. I have been offered twice, but I didn’t take it up but am open to campaigning for a short while.
Looking up

Absolutely! It does affect the judgement of people. As public figures, there is a huge responsibility on the shoulders of the actors to make their decision wisely and choose their party. Pan-India we have seen stars like Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Hema Malini, Smriti Irani and recently Urmila Matondkar and Shilpa Shinde, who have done so.
