A parent of a shooter has lodged a sexual harassment complaint against a known Paralympic shooter, who has represented India in five Paralympic Games.
The victim alleged that the shooter “misbehaved with her”. He was employed by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) as a contracted coach. The complaint was forwarded to the Karni Singh Shooting Range (KSSR) administrator Manjushree Dayanand after which he was barred from entering the range.
“We have been informed by the director (personnel & coaching) that they have received a complaint that the shooting coach has misbehaved with the woman. Therefore the coach is being ordered to stay away from the range till the ICC constituted by Sports Authority of India completes its enquiry,” the letter given to the shooter read.
When contacted he said he will be proven innocent. “I know why such a complaint was registered against me but it is not correct for me to raise it here,” the accused retorted.
“In all probability I will approach the court in this matter. But I will only say this that this incident should be thoroughly probed and if needed it should be handed over to the Delhi Police. If they find that I am the culprit they should throw me in the jail but if innocent the same people who have lodged this complaint and tried to tarnish my public image then they should be punished,” he added
