The ruling BJP, which recently stunned its political rivals with incredible electoral success, is now preparing to share with the world its trade secret — how to train cadres.
“Training” has always been key part of BJP chief Amit Shah’s formula for electoral success, the other two being “membership” and “contact”. Therefore, the party’s training cell, the Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Mahabhiyan, is now bringing out a coffee table book — “Training for a New India” — which is expected to be released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi around July/August.
Leaders associated with its publication process say the 300-page book, which is in the final stages of publication, will be shared with foreign embassies, dignitaries and parties in India and across the world. “For parties across the world, it can be an education in democracy,” adds a BJP leader.
The book outlines training programmes undertaken in the past three/four years by senior party leaders in various states covering as many as 17 lakh workers. It culminates with a photograph of the swearing-in of the Narendra Modi government 2.0.
New membership drive from July 6
- Thanking its "11 crore members" for the BJP's success in LS polls, former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday outlined the contours of 'sangathan parv', special membership drive, BJP plans to begin from July 6 to increase membership by 20% (2.20 crore new members)
- Chouhan said with the 'sarvsparshi bhajpa, sarvavyapi bhajpa', the focus of the drive will be on regions like the Kashmir Valley, Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala
- The drive will continue till August 10. Thereafter, a campaign to enrol 'active members' will also be conducted between August 16 and 31
