New Delhi, June 7
The government today issued an order extending the tenure of Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha for another three months. This happens to be the third extension after he completed his two-year term in June 2017. He was appointed the Cabinet Secretary for a fixed two-year term in May 2015.
In an official order, the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) said, “The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved extension in service to Pradeep Kumar Sinha, IAS (UP: 1977) as Cabinet Secretary for a further period of three months beyond June 12, 2019, or until further order, whichever is earlier.”
Earlier, Sinha’s term was extended for one-year each in 2017 and 2018.
Both predecessors of Sinha — Ajit Kumar Seth and KM Chandrasekhar — had also served on the post for four years.
