Dehradun: A coast guard recruitment centre will soon come up in Uttarakhand. It will be the country's fifth centre after Noida, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Coast Guard Director General Rajendra Singh handed the Centre's sanction letter for the project to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, who will lay the foundation stone at Kuanwala in the city on June 28. The cost of the project will be met by the Centre. PTI
Pak pilgrims visit Amir Khusro’s shrine
New Delhi: Pakistani pilgrims, accompanied by diplomats from the High Commission of Pakistan, visited the shrine of Hazrat Amir Khusro here on Sunday to lay the traditional chaddar. A group of 100 Pakistani pilgrims is visiting Delhi to participate in the 715th Urs of Hazrat Amir Khusro. The High Commission's diplomats and Pakistani pilgrims were greeted at the Dargah by Sajjadah Nasheen Syed Tahir Nizami besides Dewan Moosa Nizami and other members of the Dargah Committee. TNS
Sena’s women workers remove mannequins
Mumbai: Activists of Shiv Sena’s women’s wing removed illegal mannequins from some streets and shops in Mumbai. The action came after the Shiv Sena-ruled BMC recently asked garment shop owners not to put up mannequins displaying lingerie without the civic body’s permission. The Sena workers claimed that such display of lingerie embarrasses women. PTI
