ED summons Kochhar again

New Delhi, June 8

With the Enforcement Directorate (ED) deciding to expand its investigation into the alleged ICICI bank loan scam, the agency has again asked former CEO of the lead private sector lender Chanda Kochhar to depose before it on Monday.

Sources in the ED said a decision had been taken to expand the probe into the money-laundering case involving the ICICI Bank and Videocon group by questioning some more officials of the private lender. Keeping this in view, the ED has asked Kochhar to depose before it on June 10 here after she sought an adjournment of the date scheduled for last Thursday. Last month, the agency had recorded the statements of Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar over multiple sessions. — TNS
