Google Maps launches ‘Stay Safer’ feature

New Delhi: Google Maps has introduced an India-first ‘Stay Safer’ feature that will alert and notify users travelling in taxis and auto-rickshaws when their vehicle goes off-route. The feature will allow users to share the live status of their trips with family and friends. Users will be able to use the new feature with the latest version of Google Maps, Google said. PTI

Peshawar approves first Sikh-only school

Peshawar: The first Sikh-only school will soon be established in Peshawar in northwest Pakistan’s Khyber Pakthunkhwa. The provincial Auqaf Department of the Khyber Pakthunkhwa government decided to approve building the school and has allocated Rs 22 lakh for its construction in Peshawar city.  PTI

Goa to let women work in night shifts

Panaji: The Goa Cabinet on Wednesday approved an amendment to Factories Act which will allow industries to employ women for night shifts. Deputy CM Vijai Sardesai said the amendment Bill would be tabled in the upcoming monsoon session of the Assembly. Once the amendment is passed, women would be able to work from 7 pm to 6 am. PTI
