New Delhi: Continuing the trend of the past six years, top rank holders of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced have chosen the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, over other equally prestigious IITs. Of the top 100 students, 64 chose IIT-B in the recent counselling. The second choice was the IIT-Delhi with 33 of the top rankers opting for it. PTI
Indian woman is Miss Universe Australia
Melbourne: India-born Priya Serrao, whose family migrated to Australia from Middle East, has won the Miss Universe Australia title for 2019, edging past 26 women. The 26-year-old will now represent Australia in the Miss Universe competition. A law graduate who works in Department of Jobs, Precincts and regions, Serrao was born in India. PTI
Amritsari ‘kulche chole’ on WC menu
New Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday was delighted to see a dish from Punjab served at the India-West Indies match in Manchester. “I was delighted to see Amritsari ‘kulche chole’ in the official (breakfast) menu meant for the Press,” he said. “Our food is not new to the world. You will find an Indian restaurant anywhere,” Puri tweeted. He had unsuccessfully contested the LS elections from Amritsar. IANS
‘Mann ki Baat’ to be back from Sunday
New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will return with his monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann ki Baat’ from June 30. On February 24, days before the Lok Sabha elections were announced, he had suspended his monthly broadcast for March and April. Confident of his return, Modi had said he will be back with the programme on the last Sunday of May. PTI
