Not aware of any blasts: Pragya

Pragya Singh Thakur, recently elected as BJP MP from Bhopal, today appeared before a special NIA court hearing the 2008 Malegaon blasts case. Thakur, who could not make it for the hearing on Thursday on health grounds, arrived at the sessions court aided by her associates, who helped her climb stairs. At the enclosure meant for accused, a red velvet cloth was spread for the MP by her supporters.

During the hearing, Judge Vinod Padalkar asked her whether she was aware of the blasts which took place on September 29, 2008, in Malegaon. “I am not aware,” she replied.

Asked if she was aware of the number of witnesses examined by the prosecution so far, Pragya replied in the negative.

Pragya along with Military Intelligence officer Lt Col Prasad Purohit, Major Ramesh Upadhyay (rtd), Sudhakar Dwivedi, Ajay Rahirkar, Sameer Kulkarni and Sudhakar Chaturvedi are the main accused in the Malegaon blasts case.
