Jaipur, May 2
A letter threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi was received at the BJP office mail days before the swearing-in ceremony of the NDA government on May 30. It was addressed to Rajasthan BJP president Madan Lal Saini.
“The hand-written letter in Hindi language, purportedly sent by Rajesh and his four aides, had landed in the mail of the BJP office days before the oath-taking,” said Saini. The party handed over the letter to the Ashok Nagar Thana incharge for probe a day after the ceremony, he said.
DCP South Yogesh Dadhich said the letter was posted from the General Post Office, Jaipur, and all signatories were traced and interrogated but it was found that none of them had written it. “Someone ‘used’ their names to fabricate the letter.” — OC
