Bhopal: BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, son of party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, was today granted bail by a special court here in two cases related to assaulting a municipal official in Indore with a cricket bat. Additional Sessions Judge Suresh Singh, special judge for cases against MPs and MLAs, granted bail to Akash, who was arrested on Wednesday on charges of assault and leading a protest without permission. Naxalite leader dies of cancer in Kolkata
Kolkata: Naxalite leader Santosh Rana died at a private nursing home in Kolkata on Saturday. The 75-year-old veteran communist leader, who was suffering from cancer, passed away around 6 am. During the turbulent years of the Naxalite uprising in West Bengal in 60s and 70s, Rana, a Calcutta University topper in physics in the Masters exam, chose the path of armed revolution and became a camp follower of CPI(ML) leader Charu Majumdar.
