As many as 776 children, including 124 in Uttar Pradesh, have died at specialised adoption agencies in the last three years, the Women and Child Development (WCD)Ministry said Friday. Responding to a question in Lok Sabha, WCD Minister Smriti Irani gave data according to which the highest number of deaths of children have been reported from UP. These deaths occurred across 19 specialised adoption agencies in the state. Rae Bareli unit to be world’s biggest: Goyal
The government on Friday said it was working to make the Modern Rail Coach factory in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli the largest coach factory in the world. Rae Bareli is the Lok Sabha segment of UPA chairperson and Congress veteran Sonia Gandhi. Replying to a debate on the Budget demands for his ministry in the Lok Sabha today, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said the Rae Bareli coach factory was set up in 2007 but not a single coach had been produced there until the BJP government assumed power at the Centre in 2014. 2,896 scientist posts lying vacant
The top 70 institutes and laboratories under the Ministry of Science and Technology have nearly 2,900 vacant posts of scientists, the government said on Friday. The vacancy of scientists in five institutes -- National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, Fourth Paradigm Institute, Bengaluru and Central Flood technological Research Institute, Mysuru -- is 100 or more, Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan said in a written response to a question in Lok Sabha. pti
