Nadda: First 50 days of Modi 2.0 exemplary

New Delhi, July 26

Describing as “exemplary” and “transformational” the first 50 days of the Narendra Modi government 2.0, BJP working president JP Nadda today said it focused on weaker sections, national security and strengthening economy.

In his maiden press meet after being appointed the party’s working chief, Nadda hailed the Centre’s initiatives towards strengthening national security and protection of children, referring to the passage of a law to strengthen the National Investigation Agency and the POCSO Bill.

Nadda said the government has reduced 44 labour laws to four codes as part of its “labour reforms” to give momentum to the economy. “The decisions the government has taken in the past 50 days are better than what we have seen in 50 years. They will be milestones on the path of the country’s development,” he said.

The government has taken measures to crackdown on terrorism and curtail its funding, he said. Referring to the removal of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank chairman, he said: “A lot will be revealed during the ongoing probe.”

Nadda said while governments presented report cards after 100 days, the Modi government 2.0 set a new example by doing so in 50 days. “It has set a target of building 1.95 crore new houses for the poor with piped drinking water supply and LPG fuel by 2022. You can imagine how these developments will change lives and boost ease of living,” he said. — TNS
