Lagos: A snake burst onto the chamber floor of a state parliament building in Nigeria, sending lawmakers scampering and forcing an indefinite recess, officials said Friday. “When we were about to enter into plenary, a big snake just ran out of the chamber which disrupted our sitting and we had to hurriedly leave the chamber,” said Olugbenga Omole, a spokesman for lawmakers from Ondo State. It did not bite anyone before it was caught and killed by parliament staff, said Omole. AFP
Cows exhale oxygen, can cure TB: U’khand CM
Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has kicked up a controversy by saying that cows exhale oxygen, a claim rubbished by livestock and animal husbandry experts. A video has gone viral showing Rawat extolling the curative powers of cow at a function. He is also heard as saying that massaging a cow can cure breathing problems, while living in close proximity with the animal can cure tuberculosis. The CM's cow eulogy comes after state BJP chief and Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt recently said pregnant women can avoid cesarian deliveries if they drink water of Garud Ganga, a river in Bageshwar district. Tulsi sues Google for hindering Prez campaign
Washington: Tulsi Gabbard, the Democratic presidential candidate and the first Hindu member of the US Congress, has sued Google for $50 million for the tech giant’s “discriminatory actions” against her 2020 election campaign and stifling her free speech rights. Gabbard, 38 said in a lawsuit filedin a federal court in Los Angeles that Google infringed on her free speech when it briefly suspended her campaign's advertising account after the first Democratic debate in June.
