Facing a police complaint of cheating by an event organiser from Uttar Pradesh, actress Sonakshi Sinha took to social media to defend herself.
“An event organizer who couldn’t live up to his commitments obviously thinks he can make a fast buck by maligning my crystal clear image in the press. There is full cooperation with the authorities from my end for the investigation to be conducted. Would request the media not to fan these bizarre claims of an unscrupulous man,” Sinha said in a message on Twitter.

A police team from Mordabad in Uttar Pradesh arrived at Sinha's residence on Thursday and later today to quiz her regarding the matter. According to the Juhu police station here, Sinha and four others have been accused in the matter.
As per the complaint filed by one Pramod Sharma, Sinha and the others have been accused of accepting Rs 24 lakh for attending a prize distribution event in September last year. The complainant alleged that the actor did not show for the event thereby causing him huge losses.
Mumbai police officials said they have extended assistance to their counterparts from Uttar Pradesh as per the normal course of business.
