Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today assured the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) the government will proactively address their complaints of banks’ reluctance to lend freely, high cost of complying with various directives and the slow pace of GST refunds. MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari said the Government will examine their plea for revision in the definition of MSMEs.
On the bottlenecks faced in getting GST refunds, the government promised to further streamline the process, said sources. The government also assured that it will examine complaints regarding the high cost of compliance-related requirements sought by a slew of ministries. —TNS
