What are the main factors you check before signing a show?
I look at the script, the production house and think whether as an art director it will challenge me or not.
What’s the concept of the show this year?
The theme this year is Ek Desh Ek Awaaz. It is a very nice concept because as a country we stand together for various things and music is one of those which bring the entire country together.
Will the set be according to the theme?
Yes. Based on the theme, we have designed a global imagery for the show. For me, my globe is my India. The whole set together looks like a funnel and will give the audiences a visual of the contestants singing in a funnel.
What is the difference between art director and production designer?
An art director designs the basic sets and a production designer decorates them by using colours.
What are your other upcoming projects?
I have few reality shows and awards shows in the pipeline. Other than that, there are few movie projects which I am not allowed to talk about.
How was your experience with biopics?
It was really good with Mary Kom and PM Narendra Modi. And that is the reason, I am working on two more biopics.
What does fitness mean to you?
The most important thing is to feel good about yourself and that makes you feel fit from within. Fitness is purely a state of mind for me.
