India to host Interpol General Assembly in 2022

New Delhi, October 18

India today won the vote for hosting the 91st General Assembly of the Interpol in India in 2022, which will be part of celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the country’s Independence.

According to an Ministry of Home Affairs press note, voting in this regard took place today at the 88th General Assembly of the Interpol at Santiago Chile with India winning with an overwhelming majority. The Interpol is an international organisation with 194 member-states and has 100 years of experience of international cooperation in Policing.

The MHA said CBI Director Rishi Kumar Shukla placed the country candidature and an overwhelming majority voted in favour of India’s proposal.
