New Delhi, October 28
Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram was examined by a team of doctors at AIIMS, New Delhi, after he complained of stomach ache.
Lodged in Tihar Jail since September 6 for alleged corrpution in the INX Media case, Chidambaram is currently in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate.
The former minister was first taken to another central facility, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, and then to AIIMS where a team of doctors reviewed his health.
ED sources said the Congress leader was fine and there was nothing serious. Chidambaram’s family sources, however, maintained the ex-minister was not well and he had some issues.
Doctors at AIIMS did not disclose the outcome of Chidambaram’s medical review today. The former minister was granted bail by the Supreme Court in a corrpution case being investigated by the CBI, but he continues to be in the custody of the ED for questioning. — TNS
