Lucknow: The Shahjahanpur rape survivor was on Monday presented in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate through video-conferencing. Shahjahanapur CJM Omvir Singh has fixed October 14 as the next date of hearing on her bail application. She was arrested on September 25 and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days in a cross-case of blackmailing for extortion of Rs 5 crore filed by rape accused Chinmayanand. Shahjahanpur District and Sessions Judge Ram Babu Sharma would hear the bail application of the three co-accused in the extortion case on October 10. Man kills wife, three kids
Jaipur: A man allegedly murdered his wife and three teenaged children over a family dispute at Dhabala-Khichi village, 7 km from Jhalawar district, on Tuesday. Sakir (42) fled from the village around 5 am after committing the crime, said Sunel Thana SHO Jitendra Singh. The complaint was lodged by Sakir’s brother Iqbal. The accused, who is a driver by profession, first mixed some poisonous substance in the victims’ food on Monday night, following which he strangled his wife and hanged the body from the ceiling. The deceased were identified as Jahida (40), Muskan (13), Alfia (11) and Alfez (10). OC
14-yr-old raped, murdered in UP
Muzaffarnagar: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped and strangled to death in Shamli district. According to circle officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, the girl’s body was found in an agricultural field at Kailshikapur village on Monday evening. He said it appeared that she was strangled to death with her “dupatta” after rape. Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, the police launched a probe into the matter. In the complaint, they said their daughter had gone to bring lunch for her father and since then, she had been missing, Tiwari said. PTI
