‘Bala’ release challenged in Jaipur court

The release of movie “Bala”, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, has been challenged in the Jaipur Metro Magistrate Court, alleging “plagiarism”. Its makers have been summoned on November 6. The notices were served to the producer (Maddock Films Private Limited) and distributors on November 4 on a case filed by young film writer, maker and director Naman Goyal, who alleged that his short movie “The Beginning to Get Bald”, which he produced at New York Film Academy (NYFA-USA) in 2010, was “copied” in multiple scenes and its contents are similar at many spots in the trailer released by Bala recently. The movie is scheduled to be released on November 7. — OC
