Tewari, Tharoor meet PC in jail

New Delhi, November 25

Congress MPs Manish Tewari and Shashi Tharoor today met former Finance Minister and party veteran P Chidambaram in Tihar jail and termed his continued detention as a matter of grave concern.

Chidambaram’s son Karti, a sitting Lok Sabha MP, accompanied the duo.

After the meeting, Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari said Chidambaram’s case was a classical example of political persecution.

“This case typifies the low-level vendetta where the golden triangle of Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the Constitution stands severely undermined,” he said. — TNS
