China's coronavirus death toll nears 1500 as Hubei reports 116 new fatalities

The deadly coronavirus has claimed more than 1400 lives in China as the latest fatalities' count stands at 1,483 as on Friday. With the surge in the death toll, Hubei province, the epicentre of the outbreak has reported 116 new fatalities, the country's health officials said. The hard-hit province reported 4,823 new confirmed cases on Thursday, the provincial health commission said.
