New Delhi, March 28
A petition filed in the Supreme Court today accused the CBI of going soft on accused in the Muzaffarpur shelter home abuse case and failing to include murder and rape charges in the charge sheet.
The petitioner alleged it was done despite clear statements made by victim minor girls regarding killing of an inmate and rape of several others
A Bench led by Justice SA Bobde agreed to take it up after two weeks.
The petitioner pointed out that the CBI chargesheet filed before a Sessions Court at Saket Court complex in the capital had serious lapses.
The CBI failed to include murder and rape charges in the chargesheet even though several girls had given statements regarding killing of a girl and rape of several other inmates. The CBI investigation had done nothing to trace the “uncles” and outsiders who allegedly visited the shelter home to assault the girls.
Angry at mishandling of the Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual abuse cases, the Supreme Court had on February 7 transferred the trial from Bihar to POCSO Court at Saket in Delhi. — TNS
