Mumbai, March 23
The Congress and the NCP today completed their seat-sharing arrangement with smaller parties for the polls.
At a joint press conference, leaders of the Congress, NCP, Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana and two smaller parties said they had carved up the 48 LS seats in Maharashtra among themselves. The Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana would contest two seats, while the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi and the Yuva Swambhimani Paksha would represent one seat each.
Maharashtra Congress chief Ashok Chavan said the alliance would conduct joint campaigns. However, the Congress and the NCP would release separate manifestos, according to Nawab Malik, the latter’s spokesperson.
