Delhi student, missing after spat with girlfriend, traced

Dharamsala, March 25

Agrasen Delhi University student Himanshu Ahuja, who had been missing since March 18, was on Monday traced by local trekkers to an area near Triund and reunited him with his parents.

Sources said Himanshu, along with a group of 40 students from his college, had come here on a tour. During a trek to the Bhagsu waterfall, he had a fight with his girlfriend following which he took a different route and lost his way.

Police and Army teams were deployed to locate Himanshu, but to no avail. The Army authorities had also brought sniffer dogs to locate the boy, but they had failed to pick up the trail due to rain in the region.

Trekker Ranjit Singh, who was among the team that located Himanshu, said the boy was found from a cave in the mountains. He had developed an injury in his leg and his phone was switched off. The trekkers said Himanshu survived by drinking water from a nearby nullah.— TNS
