Jaipur: A 31-year-old man was arrested under sedition charges here on Thursday for uploading a post on Facebook seeking a contract to kill PM Narendra Modi. “We had received a complaint about the objectionable social media post on police control room, following which the accused was arrested,” said DCP East Rahul Jain. Naveen Kumar Yadav, a Rewari resident presently living here, had demanded a contract to kill the PM, saying he had a fool-proof plan. PTI
EC probes use of Parrikar’s ashes for poll campaign
Panaji: The Goa Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday asked collectors to probe and send a report into a series of ceremonies held by the BJP to immerse the ashes of late CM Manohar Parrikar in rivers across the state’s 40 segments. The direction from the CEO, Kunal, follows a complaint by lawyer Aires Rodrigues alleging that the BJP was taking political advantage of the former CM's ashes, which is a violation of the poll code. Lucknow: Posters accusing Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra of neglecting Rae Bareli after making tall promises in 2014 appeared in the constituency on Thursday — the second day of her three-day visit to Amethi, Rae Bareli and Ayodhya.
