Mumbai, March 28
The uneasy truce between the BJP and the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra is showing signs of falling apart with the latter threatening to field a candidate against sitting BJP MP from Mumbai North East, Kirit Somaiya.
Sitting Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut said he was ready to fight against Somaiya, should the BJP field him again from Mumbai North East. Sunil, the younger brother of Saamna editor and Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, said he was ready to file his nominations on April 6 on Gudi Padwa.
Raut is seen enjoying the blessings of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. “Somaiya has insulted the Marathi-speaking people by calling Thackeray a mafia don,” Raut told mediapersons here. He claimed Somaiya did not enjoy the support of the people in
his constituency. However, Gujaratis are backing him.
