A survey conducted by news App Inshorts, which claims to have 10 million downloads, shows migrant workers in the capital are “not travelling back to their hometowns to cast their vote”. Named ‘Pulse of the Nation’ , the survey on the outlook of young Indian voters was undertaken with the participation of a little more than two lakh respondents.

“An analysis of the responses reveal that people working in Delhi are the least to travel back to their hometowns for the elections,” it says. Delhi attracts a large number of people from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, who come here in search of a livelihood.

The outcome of the survey also reveals 46% of Delhi residents feel that NOTA “is not a good option” as it does not serve any purpose. “Yet they are”least interested to cast their vote.” At the national level, the highlights that only 24 per cent Indians doubt the authenticity of EVMs.

The majority of respondents were from Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai,  representing the urban populace aged between 18-35 years.

Meanwhile, all is set for the LS elections in the national capital on Sunday where the BJP, Delhi’s ruling AAP and the Congress are locked in a fight on all seven seats.
