Rakhi Sharma, a model by profession, will be seen in a Punjabi music video releasing soon that also happens to be her debut song. She is all excited to hear the feedback of the viewers. Apart from that, she is auditioning for TV shows and aspires to be in the television industry and follow the footsteps of her role model Hina Khan.
When did you decide to pursue modelling as a career?
It is my first step towards the bigger goal that is acting. Walking on ramp as a model made me see myself in the new light as a confident woman ready to take on the world. Now that I am doing shoots and working in front of camera, it is a new high for me.
Tell us about the modelling pageants that you took part in...
I was the first runner up of Miss Himachal 2017 and won the title of Best Smile. Also, I took part in fbb Campus Princess 2018 and was one of the finalists where I won the title of Miss Congeniality in the national finale.
Your first assignment...
After becoming the first runner up of Miss Himachal 2017, Winners got roped in for International Fashion Week Goa 2017 which was my first assignment. Throughout the year, I walked in fashion shows within India which sure was super fun.
You worked in advertisements as well as Punjabi videos...
I recently finished my debut Punjabi video song that will be release soon and I am all excited to know how people will respond to that. I did campaign shoots and bridal shoots as well. Also, I am auditioning for roles as a TV actress because I have been a telly fan ever since I was child.
Your most interesting shoot so far...
It was a bridal shoot for Ludhiana-based make-up artist Pallavi Narula. I found it interesting for the fact I never knew I can carry bridal attires and jewellery so well. Another reason I want to try out for television dramas.
A designer you want to walk for?
Considering my love for bridal shoots, I wish Sabyasachi Mukherjee give me a chance someday to walk for him in his exquisite designs.
If not modelling, then?
Acting. I have already done a pilot shoot for Sunny Side Up Production House, Mumbai.
What is your connection with Chandigarh?
Being a girl form Nankhari village, Rampur, Himachal Pradesh, I think Chandigarh is the closest place for people like us looking for opportunities in this field. I call myself Chandigarh-based model because it is easier for others to place us.
Your favourite style?
Bell bottoms with T-shirt.
Your fashion tip for youngsters...
Always keep in mind the occasion.
What is your health quotient?
Chia seeds and water. I take care of my diet. I am not regular with my work outs and meditation though.
Must-haves in your wardrobe?
All kinds of traditional and western outfits. Nothing is enough and you never know what you might need.
In casuals your pick would be?
A tucked in top with a long skirt.
Who is your favourite celebrity?
Deepika Padukone, she is a perfect role model and I love Hina Khan’s acting in television.
What do you aspire to be?
I aspire to be a successful television actor.
Healthy snack you munch on...
Fruits and nuts.
Daily routine...
I wake up early and start my day with lemon water and chia seeds. Then as per my shooting schedule, I plan my day. But, I never compromise my eating habits due to hectic schedule.
