Gurnaaz Kaur
Happily married for 30 years are Satinder Pal Singh and Parminder Kaur from Ludhiana. After serving 20 years for the central government as a civil engineer, Satinder recently became a businessman and has his wife as a passionate partner in pursuing this new career. Playing the roles of friends, partners, companions and advisors to each other, this couple says it all fuels the flames of romance in them.
As the love story began
Satinder I was appointed as engineer in central government and transferred to Patiala. One of my colleagues and I were searching for a rented accommodation. During that search, I saw her first time when we went to ask for their house on rent. It was like ‘striking bolt of lightning direct to heart’. Perhaps it was one-sided earlier, but eventually I made her understand about my deep love for her.
Parminder I came to know about his attraction and love towards me much later. Initially, I was a little apprehensive, but later on I found his love was true and subsequently fell in love with this awesome man.
Marriage was next
Satinder When the first few exciting dates were over and we were comfortable with each other, I proposed to her, to which she responded positively, but with a condition of her parents’ concurrence.
Parminder After knowing each other for a year, one fine day I talked to my mother about Satinder. She was also happy with my decision and it was like love-cum-arranged marriage in December of 1989.
And life changed
Satinder Falling in love with each other might be a mystery but the reason we stay in love till today is far less elusive. She is an ideal partner with a set of qualities that is uniquely meaningful to me. I learnt to live a quality life in terms of happiness after marriage.
Parminder I am a completely changed personality due to his supportive and congenial behaviour. We understand each other and are aware of the commonalities that exist between us. We also recognise and appreciate the differences. Life is blissful.
Living together
Satinder Love becomes stronger. We share the same values, likes and dislikes, interests and philosophical views. Our love is compatible. We always look in the same direction.
Parminder People say that things inevitably slow down in domestic life after becoming an official couple but I am truly relishing every joyful moment in my life. I truly believe that I made the right choice by marrying him.
Two is company
Satinder We love to travel together. Every year, we go on vacations to different exotic places of the world.
Parminder We love to gossip and spend our quality time talking about our common interests and future goals.
If I could change
Satinder I want her to accompany me while going for morning walks.
Parminder He is perfect in all respects and doesn’t need to change anything.
Couple goals
Satinder To take our business to international level and help others to achieve goals in our business.
Parminder We have already travelled more than 40 countries but I want us to travel more and explore mountain tops and beautiful beaches of the world.
Gets annoying sometimes
Satinder She always favours me and likes my every right and wrong. I want her to be my critic also and correct me whenever I am wrong.
Parminder He annoys me when he takes random stuff from refrigerator and starts cooking himself.
Free time means
Satinder I love reading positive, self-help books.
Parminder I spend my free time with our family.
Wow Factor
Satinder She is a family oriented lady and wears various hats of a mother, mother-in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, wife and business partner with such grace.
Parminder He is very caring and has a pleasing personality. His communication skills are outstanding and so is his sense of humour.
