New Delhi, May 7
The government today reduced the percentile cut-off for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-PG by six percentile to ensure vacant seats across the country were filled for academic year 2019-20.
The approval was granted by Minister of Health JP Nadda after a recommendation by the Medical Council of India, which said around 2,000 PG seats across central and state medical colleges were going vacant.
Accordingly, a decision was taken to lower the cut-off percentile by 6 per cent, taking it to 44 percentile for general category students, 39 for persons with disabilities and 34 percentile for SC/ST and OBC category candidates. — TNS
