Gangtok, June 7
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government will soon clear the decks for the CBI to take up corruption cases in the border state, a senior official said.
A notification issued by the erstwhile Sikkim Democratic Front government in 2010 mandated the CBI to seek its prior consent, before taking up any investigation.
“It is necessary to bring the CBI as it is the only agency that can bring to book those people who had indulged in large-scale corruption for past 25 years,” said CM’s Political Secretary JK Rai. — PTI
