NEW DELHI: Most Indians love laughing with tears of joy and blowing kisses with emoticons on various social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook and dating apps, a new report said. The report by tech company Bobble AI, launched ahead of World Emoji Day on Wednesday, places the "tears of joy" and "blowing a kiss" emoji faces as the top two used in smartphone conversations. Other top 10 emojis for WhatsApp are: smiling face with heart eyes, kiss mark, OK hand, loudly crying face, beaming face with smiling eyes, thumbs-up, folded hands and smiling face with sunglasses. A first: Tribal dances to be showcased in UK
Itanagar: The dance forms of Miji tribe of Arunachal Pradesh and Rongmei of Manipur will be showcased for the first time in the UK, co-organiser of an upcoming event said on Tuesday. Artistes from the two tribes will perform their respective dance forms at Nehru Centre in London on July 18. The programme, christened as 'Indradhanush', is aimed at highlighting the rich tribal heritage and dance forms of India in London. Both the communities are nature-worshippers and have vibrant drapes and dance forms. PTI
Indian-origin man convicted in US for killing wife
New York: An Indian-origin man extradited from India has been convicted by a US court for killing his estranged wife 12 years ago when she asked for a divorce. Avtar Grewal, 44, who was extradited to the US in 2011, was found guilty of first-degree murder by the jury, for strangulating and submerging his 30-year-old wife Navneet Kaur in a bathtub in the Phoenix suburb of Ahwatukee in 2007. His sentencing is scheduled for August 23. The two got married in India in 2005, but had a long-distance relationship. Grewal was living in Canada while Kaur was in the US on a visa. PTI
