New Delhi, July 1
The Lok Sabha today passed the Bill that will allow quota under reserved category to appoint teachers in Central educational institutions.
It will help fill around 8,000 existing vacancies in 41 central universities across the country. Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Bill 2019, seeks to replace an ordinance issued in March.
HRD Minister Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said the Bill would provide for 10% reservation for economically weaker section (EWS) besides reservation of posts in appointments to candidates belonging to the SC, ST, Socially and Economically Backward Classes. — TNS
