It now emerges, among the terrorists killed by the Army on October 20, included gun-toting mercenaries owning allegiance to various terror outfits that have an international footprint like the Islamic State and the Taliban.
The Army opened up its artillery guns on specified targets across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on October 20. Army Chief General Bipin Rawat speaking to the media at an event in South Delhi on October 20 said, “In a retaliatory action, we have caused severe damage to terrorist infrastructure. Terrorist camps opposite the Tangdhar sector have been destroyed.” Though the Army Chief had said the initial numbers that 8-10 terrorists had been killed, sources said the damage was greater and the number of dead terrorists was more than 20.
Specific ground-based intelligence indicates that at least 6-7 structures were demolished in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir areas of the Neelum valley that is across the Tangdhar area in Jammu and Kashmir.
For the Pakistani establishment, it was easier to overcome these deaths and most of the terrorists were not locals but included those who had comes from other countries. — TNS
