New Delhi, November 5
A team from Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati, has bagged this year’s global competition organised annually by the famed International Genetically Engineered Machine Foundation to honour the top minds in genetics.
Every year 6,000 people dedicate their summers to iGEM projects in their native country labs and short-listed teams then assemble to present research findings in a highly competitive jamboree event. iGEM 2019 drew 375 shortlisted teams worldwide for a final contest in Boston. Out of 57 gold awardees, IISER Tirupati won gold at the first attempt.
