50-yr-old woman gangraped, killed in Andhra

Hyderabad, December 3

As the nation protests the gang-rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad, another such incident is reported from Andhra Pradesh.

According to the police, a 50-year-old widow was gang-raped and murdered in the Vemavaram village in East Godavari district, bordering Telangana, where three men saw the victim alone at home and committed the crime. 

Keeping in view the Supreme Court judgement in rape cases, the identity of the victim has been withheld and no pictures have been released.

Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi said one of the suspects had been arrested and the police were on the lookout of two others. — TNS
