Ex-PM Manmohan Singh casts his vote in Assam 

Guwahati: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday cast his vote at a polling booth here during the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in Assam. He was here along with his wife Gursharan Kaur. He arrived in Guwahati in a commercial flight on Tuesday afternoon and went to Dispur Government Higher Secondary School to exercise his franchise. He was accompanied by Congress candidate from Guwahati Bobbeeta Sharma, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora, and the leader of the opposition in Assam Assembly, Debabrata Saikia. Youth booked for raising ‘false’ EVM complaint             

Thiruvananthapuram: A 21-year-old youth was booked by police after he allegedly made a false complaint about a voting machine in a booth where he cast his vote in the Lok Sabha elections here on Tuesday. The case was registered against the voter, identified as Ebin Babu, under IPC section 177 (furnishing false information) after a test voting conducted by polling officials showed his complaint to be false, police said. Election officials said the polling officials at the booths have been directed to collect complaints in writing. PTI
