Ahmedabad: The Akshardham terror attack accused, Mohammad Yasin Butt, who was arrested from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir 17 years after the incident, was on Saturday remanded in seven-day police custody by a special court here. He was brought to Ahmedabad Friday evening. The police had demanded 14-day custody for Butt, but the court granted the remand till August 3. Butt is believed to have arranged for arms and ammunition used in the 2002 Akhsardham attack in which 34 persons, including a black cat commando, were killed and 86 others were injured. OC
